Description

High Precision UV 405 nm 3D Printing Resin – Fully Detailed Guide

High Precision UV 405 nm 3D Printing Resin is a specialized liquid photopolymer used in LCD, DLP, and SLA resin 3D printers that cure with a 405 nm ultraviolet light source. It’s designed to produce exceptionally smooth, detailed, and high-fidelity prints — perfect for miniatures, prototypes, engineering parts, and artistic models.

🧪 What This Resin Is

  • Material Type: UV-curable photopolymer resin

  • Curing Wavelength: 405 nm UV light (standard for most desktop resin printers)

  • Form Factor: Liquid resin in bottle

  • Printer Compatibility: LCD and DLP 3D printers (Anycubic Photon, Elegoo Mars, Creality Halot, Phrozen, etc.)

Unlike filament printing, resin printing uses UV light to solidify liquid resin layer by layer, which results in superior surface quality and ultra-fine detail.

🔥 Key Features

🎯 High Precision & Fine Detail

  • Resolves very fine features, sharp edges, and smooth curves

  • Ideal for miniatures, jewelry models, dental parts, engineering prototypes and complex designs

⚡ Rapid Curing

  • Designed to cure quickly under 405 nm UV light

  • Improves print speed and reduces layer separation issues

💧 Low Viscosity

  • Flows easily into thin gaps and under supports

  • Improves reliability and reduces printing artifacts

  • Helps maintain consistent layer adhesion

🏗️ Strong Print Quality

  • Good mechanical strength for functional prototypes

  • Smooth surface finish with minimal post-processing

🔄 Wide Compatibility

Works with most 405 nm resin 3D printers including:

  • Anycubic Photon Series

  • Elegoo Mars / Saturn Series

  • Creality Halot / Resin Series

  • Phrozen Sonic Series

  • QIDI Tech Resin Printers

  • And many other SLA/LCD/DLP machines

📊 Typical Specifications

Property Typical Value

Density ~1.10–1.20 g/cm³
Viscosity ~150–300 cP (low)
Tensile Strength ~35–60 MPa*
Shore Hardness ~80–90 HS*
Elongation at Break ~10–20%*
Shrinkage After Cure ~3–6%
Shelf Life ~12–18 months sealed
* Values vary by manufacturer and resin formula

These values give you a general idea — exact numbers depend on exact resin brand and type.

🖨️ How It Works — Step by Step

1. Prepare Printer & Resin Tank

  • Clean the resin vat and build plate

  • Pour resin into the tank (do not overfill)

2. Set Exposure & Print

  • Set recommended exposure times for your printer

  • Print model layer by layer — UV light cures each layer

3. Wash the Print

  • Remove the print from the build plate

  • Rinse in isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or ethanol to remove uncured resin

4. Post-Cure

  • After washing, cure the print further using a UV curing station or sunlight

  • Full cure increases strength and dimensional stability
